What is the new RRP Rule & how does this new EPA regulation affect you?

1-Day EPA Lead Renovation, Repair & Painting Rule – Initial

This course will meet the EPA Training requirements for persons performing renovations in pre-1978 housing and child-care facilities. Students that complete the course will become Certified Renovators and know how to perform all work using lead-safe work practices. Students will also learn how to perform acceptance testing for their work.

The eight (8) modules covered in the course include:

  • Module 1: Why Should I be Concerned About Lead Paint?
  • Module 2: Regulations
  • Module 3: Before Beginning Work
  • Module 4: Contain Dust During Work
  • Module 5: During the Work
  • Module 6: Cleaning Activities and Checking Your Work
  • Module 7: Recordkeeping
  • Module 8: Training Non-Certified Renovation Workers

Activities & Exercises

This course includes activities and exercises to help you identify methods for reducing the amount of dust you create and containing and cleaning up the dust you do create. Many of the exercises and activities take place in small groups, so you will have an opportunity to share your experiences and ideas with others in the class.

1/2-Day EPA Lead Renovation, Repair & Painting Rule – Refresher

Refresher training and re-certification is required every five (5) years. Currently-trained Lead-Abatement Supervisors and Lead-Abatement Workers will be eligible fore the ½ day re-certification course.

The seven (7) modules covered in the course include:

  • Module 1: Regulations
  • Module 2: Using EPA-Recognized Test Kits
  • Module 3: Review of Set-up Practices
  • Module 4: Review of Prohibited Practices, Personal Protective Equipment and Dust Control
  • Module 5: Cleaning Activities and Checking Your Work
  • Module 6: Recordkeeping
  • Module 7: Training Non-Certified Renovation Workers
